چکیده
Red blood cell distribution width (RDW) and visual assessments of anisocytosis assess variability in erythrocyte size. Veterinary studies on the correlation between two methods observer agreement are scarce. The objectives were to grading by means conventional microscopy canine smears RDW, intra- inter-observer variation assessing degree anisocytosis. study included 100 samples which smear examination RDW measurement performed. was measured Advia 2120i analyzer. based a human scheme ratio size representative largest red that smallest (1+ if <2x, 2+ 2–3x, 3+ 3–4x, 4+ >4x). Three observers participated assessed twice, 3 weeks apart each observer. for occasion using Kendahl-tau-b analysis. Intra-observer quadratically weighted kappa. Inter-observer free-marginal multi-rater Anisocytosis graded correlated significantly with values as ranging 0.37 0.51 ( p < 0.0001). ranged from weak moderate resulting kappa-coefficients being 0.58, 0.68, 0.75, respectively. (Kappa-values 0.44). assessment indicates more precise repeatable should be used clinical decision-making.

Red blood cell distribution width: a determinant of hospital mortality in pancreatitis
Objective: In recent years, there has been a great attention concerning red blood cell distribution width (RDW) in clinical decisions as well as determining the severity of diseases. This study was conducted to evaluate the primary level of RDW to predict hospital mortality in pancreatitis. Methods: This was a descriptive analytical study performed on 100 pati...

Background: Colorectal cancer is a common cancer and has a high rate of mortality and morbidity. This can be reduced by screening tests. Some of the studies have recently referred to Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW) as a marker for early detection of various cancers. The aim of this study was to investigate the RDW and early detection of colorectal cancer and polyp. M...
متن کاملRatio of Spleen Diameter to Red Blood Cell Distribution Width
Celiac disease (CD) is currently considerably underdiagnosed, setting the need for developing tools to select patients with probability of CD, who warrant further testing. Red blood cell distribution width (RDW) has been shown in previous studies to be a sensitive predictor for CD, but it lacks specificity. Splenic hypotrophy is also noted frequently in celiac patients. Our aim was to evaluate ...
متن کاملPrognostic Validity of Red Cell Distribution Width in Neonatal Sepsis
Background Neonatal sepsis is one of the most critical illness in neonates that is responsible for a great proportion of morbidity and mortality in neonates so early diagnosis and identification of high risk cases is a challenging aim of our study. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of red cell distribution width (RDW), in neonatal sepsis at the time of admission ...
